BET Awards Humanitarian Award 2009: Wyclef Jean.7/3/2009
As a Grammy-Award winning musician, producer, social entrepreneur, activist and Haitian Goodwill Ambassador, Wyclef has become hip hop’s unofficial multicultural conscience; he has assembled or participated in numerous high-profile charity benefit shows for a variety of causes, including aid for his native Haiti.
Wyclef established his own foundation, Yéle Haiti, whose mission is to extend humanitarian assistance to that country and restore the people’s pride and hope there.
Through Yéle Haiti, Wyclef supports projects that are making a difference in education, health, environment and community development and contributing to Haiti’s long-term progress.
Whether utilizing local hip-hop musicians to deliver awareness messages in forgotten neighborhoods or bringing his famous friends to Haiti to support the movement, what Wyclef radiates is profound wishes for the country.
CARIMI and MIKA BENJAMIN are teaming up once again on CARIMI's next studio CD. The song that they are doing is entitled "FANM SA MOVE" (This girl is BAD) If you recall, they struck gold on the "LIVE" CARIMI CD (Their first official) with the "MY BIMA", so they are hoping to do so again with this one.
When we asked MIKA if we can expect the song to be a hit in the same magnitude as "MY BIMA", he smiled and said "It's going to be huge as in "FANM SA MOVE".
Good luck guys.

A post by TI MANMI on another thread brought this one, since the point she brought up could NOT be discussed on THAT thread in order not to mess it up.
A lot of people think that TVICE is CARIMI's direct competitor or vice versa. Some think it's KREYOL LA or perhaps KREZI....HOWEVER
KM MEMBER "TI MANMI" says HARMONIK is CARIMI's most "DIRECT" competitor in the HMI.
READ THE POST BELOW and tell us if you AGREE or DISAGREE, and WHY.

TI MANMI: I agree with him (ELIE LAPOINTE) partially. I do not think they brought something ( new ) but i do think they are the only true direct competitors of carimi
carimi came with that americanized techno version of konpa that allowed a different fan base.. they are targeting the same market...
t-vice may have had the young fan base but carimi-s was not only young but also different because they where ( not big fans of konpa itself) in the beginning
HARMONIK is carimi (THEN) with more power of marketing, the only thing they lack compared to carimi is experience
si carimi pa ranje ko yo to offer a product that is different they will have a problem in 2 years with harmonik because one big problem with carimi is that they truly believe in that mentality
When new competitors arrive in the market THEY SHOULD FIX SOMETHING to stay competitive

MIKA BENJAMIN said that he is leaving KREZI because he wants to expand his horizons by focusing back on his solo career. He said that he could NOT do BOTH "SOLO" and "KREZI", because that would mean that he could not dedicate 100% to either one had he chosen that avenue.
MIKA BENJAMIN also said that he's had fans tell him that he should have done that a long time ago, while at the same time, he's had KREZI fans NOT agree with his decision to go the solo route, but he's made up his mind he said. NO GOING BACK.
MIKA "I had been THINKING about this for 1 year and a half. Keep in mind THINKING of something and WANTING TO DO SOMETHING are two different things. So for 1 year and a half, I had been THINKING about the SOLO thing. 8 MONTHS AGO, I announced to KREZI my intentions of leaving the group to pursue my solo avenue. 8 MONTHS AGO."
Is he joining another band, or creating another one? MIKA "NO. None of that. No I am not recruiting anyone, whether it be my good friend Olivier Duret, or anyone else for that matter. If I do get a band, it will NOT be COMPAS, because we will be targeting other horizons/avenues."
From KM!
KOMPA MAGAZINE asked MIKA BENJAMIN if he thinks his brother TI LIONEL should continue on as co-manager of KREZI after his departure, especially since we know that TI LION is also Mika's manager, and also, TENSION and MISTRUST might erupt in the band/management side of things because of his departure. This is what MIKA told us.
MIKA BENJAMIN "I don't see why not. Why not? I don't see what TI LION could do or what the musicians, or the other managers in Krezi could do to each other to get back at each other because they are not happy about my decision to leave. Besides, the musicians always say that TI LION is more accessible and all."
MIKA continues "Besides in regards to me, a lot of things have changed. TI LION is still my manager, but he does NOT have to be with me wherever I go or travel to. Therefore that will NOT have any effect on his role or performance as co-manager of the band. I don't see a problem at all with TI LIONEL continuing as the co-manager of Krezi."
ROBERTO TALKS ABOUT T-VICE'S UPCOMING ALBUM+RELEASE DATE! 7/3/2009
Roberto-Vice told Basekompa.com that the number one factor that slows the process down is because they band has been traveling a lot and their schedule is very tight. The lead singer said they’ve been working very hard on the album as well, however the public will understand that there are so many bills to be paid so they have to play the gigs while working on the album. As far as a release date, Roberto believes album might be ready by November of this year for “Musique en folie” which the vice crew would like to see happen, but would not make any solid promise for a precise date.
